Mid City Creek Park
The intersection of La Cienega Blvd and Venice Blvd suffers from relentless traffic, freeway pollution and poor pedestrian circulation. Mid-City Creek Park is a series of bioswales fed by a daylit storm channel, surrounded by green park space, trails, bike paths, and shaded respite. This park contributes to the ongoing efforts by state and local agencies to revitalize Ballona Creek, and send cleaner water to the Santa Monica Bay, and it addresses our pressing need to retain precious rainwater as a resource for our parks and local groundwater recharge. Most importantly, Mid-City Creek Park seeks to right a wrong caused by the historic freeway infrastructure development that tore through the neighborhoods of L.A. and left a wake of pollution for the people to endure.
