Ascot Hills: Re-envisioning a Community Nature Park
Ascot Hills is a unique nature park spanning 93-acres and is the pride of residents in El Sereno, California. This project proposes to renovate the existing park, prioritizing enhanced accessibility and thoughtful improvements, all while preserving the natural landscape and ecosystems.
This urban park with vast open space showcases two parallel ridges running north-south on either sides of the central valley. The park’s elevation has a difference of around 300 feet above sea level, accompanied by a stream that flows through the valley from a reservoir located at the park’s northern end, streaming to the southernmost end of the park.
With intentions focused on designing a park that provides accessibility, encourages community involvement, and serves as a sanctuary for nature, this project addresses El Sereno’s unique needs, striving to enhance the daily lives of its community.
