The urban re-design of Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza will be incorporating the preservation of most of the existing oak trees, with the addition of new tree placement.

This Master Plan will become a piece of the larger Core Master Plan for Thousand Oaks that will encompass a town square concept, improve pedestrian connections from the town square to the Civic Arts Plaza building, create retail and entertainment on the westside property and improve walkability along Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

The Civic Arts Plaza and City Hall are anchors within the downtown core of the city of Thousand Oaks. A Master Plan process has been initiated due to a widespread recognition that the City of Thousand Oaks lacks an active and identifiable downtown — a destination for Thousand Oaks residents and visitors — a place where residents can meet, shop and engage in civic entertainment activities in a public setting.
