A hidden gem in Elysian Park:
Creating a master plan for Chavez Ravine Arboretum
You wouldn’t realize it if you stepped foot there today, but the Chavez Ravine Arboretum is the oldest botanical garden in Southern California. It boasts beautiful specimens and is an integral part of our local horticultural history.
This project explores how landscape architecture can develop site identity and pay homage to historical horticultural periods and landmark specimens. The site design takes visitors on an exploration of this outdoor museum while also creating spaces to play and relax.
