2020 Capstone Project

ASLA HONOR AWARD

Kate Hamilton

Weaving Ventura
Through Landscape Architecture, Civic Space, and Culture, this project aims to distinguish and connect the Ventura Botanic Gardens, Ventura City Hall and what remains of the nursey grounds of Shepard Seed Co. Taking into consideration climatic conditions, the cycle of wildfires, and historical remnants, this horticultural history is celebrated through the creation of both an entry plan and masterplan making the gardens part of the Ventura Civic experience.
