Designing space for Farmers Markets & Events in Public Space as a community building method.
About T. Elizabeth
I’m originally from San Diego, but have spent time living in Washington DC, Spain, Argentina, Japan and a VW Volkswagon traveling around Western Europe. At the end of the UCLA LandArch program, I moved to Berlin Germany where I will be getting a Masters in Urban Design at the Technical University of Berlin.
While my Bachelors was in International Studies I spent a good part of my 20’s working in the food and event industry where I started my own business. I ran my business at farmers markets, events and private conferences for 3 years until the pandemic hit, and I decided to make the jump to Landscape Architecture thinking I would focus entirely on Agrotourism projects. I have since found that the field is much broader than I’d initially realized, and have fallen in love with it. I especially hope to focus on building stronger and more connected communities through public projects, and I especially want to focus on how to better activate parks for the needs of Farmers Markets & Events.
After I finish this program, I hope to continue learning about strong communities and how to design for them. I hope to work in firms that see and amplify the connection between the two.
