With the end of oil extraction in California on the horizon, it is vital to establish a framework for how to best rehabilitate land and communities suffering from habitat loss and pollution resulting from a century of heavy industry\u2019s presence in our neighborhoods. This project transforms a portion of Inglewood Oil Field into a community park built for ecological restoration. By integrating nature-based solutions and restoration strategies, this design will serve as a research and monitoring site and as a place of connection for fragmented habitats and communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Working with the land has been a fixture in my life. Landscape architecture allows me to grow in that relationship by developing a deeper understanding of the intricate systems that influence how we experience space.
